<<taipeiwelcomesign.JPG>> After nearly 13 hours in the air (from Los
Angeles), 5 movies, 2 meals, and countless glasses of water, we landed
in Taipei. I was pleasantly surprised to see that most signs were
written in Mandarin and English. I didn't feel so far away from home. It
was very late at night, so the airport was not crowded. Still, there
were very few American or European people, and everyone seemed to know
where to go and what to do. So, we just followed along! We exchanged a
few US dollars for New Taiwanese Dollars - the exchange rate was about
30 NTDs to 1 USDs. Finally, we found the non-resident line for entrance
into the country. We showed our passports, declared our intent for
travel, and they let us move on!! Welcome to Taiwan!
